Ricky Gervais may be planning an Extras spin-off starring Stephen Merchant's dopey agent and Barry from 'EastEnders' as a pair of bumbling crimefighters.
The BBC comedy ended after two series and a Christmas special.
But actor Shaun Williamson, who played Barry, revealed that Gervais had come up with another idea for his character and useless agent Darren Lamb (Merchant).
He told radio station Heart: "I would have loved another 10 series of 'Extras' but I can totally understand them wanting to call it a day.
"The one thing we did bandy about, half in jest and half seriously, was the idea of a spin-off for my character Barry and the agent. Ricky thought they could go around in a camper van solving crimes or something."
He added: "That's strictly on the backburner for now as Ricky is busy in Hollywood at the moment. I'd jump at the chance to work with him again."
Williamson said he nearly turned down the 'Extras' role. "I thought for about 10 minutes about not taking it and then I realised I might never get the chance to work with Ricky and Stephen again.
"I am so proud to have been involved with 'Extras' and I can understand them wanting to finish it.
"They've got so much more going for them and I think they have got a great film in them to make, whether it's an 'Extras' film or just a great British film, and I'm sure they'll make it."

Mike Myers - Catholics Join Hindu Outrage Over The Love Guru
A leading Catholic group has come to the aid of America's Hindus who are boycotting MIKE MYERS' new film THE LOVE GURU - because religious officials have found the film to be "morally offensive."
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has slapped the comedy with its highest classification.
Hindu leader Rajan Zed, who has been leading the outcry about the new film, is thrilled that other religious officials are taking his concerns seriously - branding the new 'O' rating the Catholics have given the movie a "remarkable interfaith gesture".
Officials at the USCCB's Office for Film and Broadcasting in New York, who are responsible for reviewing and rating theatrical motion pictures, called the film "vulgar and tasteless", adding it "wallows in endless penis jokes and fairly yucky potty humor."
Rajan Zed says, "We are thankful to the Conference of Catholic Bishops for having a feel for the pain of the Hindu and spiritual community by categorizing The Love Guru as morally offensive."
Zed called for a full Hindu boycott of the film because it allegedly uses Hindu concepts and Hindu terms frivolously. He asked other religious groups to lend their support.
He adds, "Today it is Hinduism, tomorrow Hollywood might attempt to denigrate another religion."
Prominent Jewish Rabbi, Elizabeth W. Beyer of Nevada, has already called for a boycott of The Love Guru because the film "lampoons Hinduism, mocks Ashram life and Hindu philosophy."

The technically technical guitar acting of John Petrucci elevated Dream Theater to the upper echelons of contemporary heavy alloy. While its lineup has unendingly evolved, the Long Island-based quintuplet has systematically delivered sharp-edged music. Dream Theater is known for its high-energy concert performances. While they've released various live albums -- Live at the Marquee, recorded at the London club; Live in Japan, recorded during the Music in Progress tour in 1993; and a triplet CD and DVD, Live Scenes from New York -- they rest one of heavy metal's near bootlegged bands.
Originally named Majesty by Berklee College of Music students Petrucci, bassist John Myung, and drummer Mike Portnoy, the isthmus presently expanded with the plus of keyboard participant Kevin Moore and vocalizer Chris Collins. Releasing an eight-tune demonstration, Majesty Demo, as Majesty, the chemical group sold 1,000 copies within six-spot months. The departure of Collins in late 1986 left Majesty without a vocalizer, and after a long menstruum of auditioning possible replacements, the mathematical group settled on Charlie Dominici in November 1987. Changing its name, the radical in agreement on "Dream Theater," inspired by a now-demolished California movie dramatic art. Signing with Mechanic Records, the chemical group began working on its first full-length record album. Delays caused by label mismanagement special the group to performing at minuscule clubs and bars. Frustrated by its experiences with the label, Dream Theater ultimately severed its ties with Mechanic.
